The implications of brittleness
The table below shows how your position on the brittleness scale effects responses by your land and plants when you apply tools. You will notice that the only tool that responds similarly in both non-brittle and brittle-tending environments is ‘High Animal Impact’.All other tools risk causing damage in brittle-tending environments. In brittle-tending environments high animal impact alone is not enough! If the timing of grazings is wrong, overgrazing can overcome any benefit the animal impact may have generated. This is a major reason why holistic grazing planning becomes so important.
